Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Maps; Karachi

I really like Karachi - There are choke points that moves the game around the map. There are not many sniping positions but plenty of camping spots. It should be listed with KOA lol.  I am going to show you some interesting locations that you may not have found yet and maybe show you another way to play.

A - Position A is on a balcony between the cafe and the mosque. In order to get to it, climb the ladder of the mosque someone is usually climbing the roof and then appears right in front of you. Its a good spot for the more strategic game modes where bomb carriers and flag runners are focused on running rather than look up at you.

B. Is pretty worthless so I am not going to even comment on it.  Maybe you can do something there.

C -  in the corner of the market is a good spot for strategic games. You have a view through the chickens and things right through to another bomb location and you can blast people coming through the alley next to the storeroom with total stealth. Great for OMA and grenades launchers.

D - In the storeroom is up on the boxes looking out the window!  You have a really good view of a S&D bomb site by the car that is exploded and you are hardly visible so you can pick off runners in most games.

E - This corner gives a nice view for looking over ground zero and into the hotel. You can't be seen here and better yet, you can go unspotted for a long time in hardcore game modes because there aren't any kill cams :)  I like to get in there, get a kill and drop a claymore to get the guy looking for payback! Sweet!

F - Last but not necessarily least; along the main road there are a number of small balconies and hiding spots that are great for covering this large area of the map. You can see up to the clock tower, into the appartments as well.

Invasion Map Modern Warfare 2

Invasion Map

Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Maps Invasion
Name: Invasion
Location: Somewhere in Afganistan
Setting: War- torn city in a desert region
Size: Medium

Invasion start screen

The Invasion Map is set in an Afghan town, it contains many buildings in a multi-level map, it's the scene of a lot of up close battles due to it having many buildings that your enemies can pop out of buildings at a moments notice.

Some people weren't aware that Invasion a remake of the campaign mission "Shock and Awe" it's the part of the single player ops mission where you're asked to rescue the downed cobra pilot.

This map has a lot of vehicles and exploding barrels that are particularly helpful when on Search and Destroy.  When you spawn as playing as the Opfor you can shoot your grenades into the American spawn getting easy quad and triple kills.

To the northeast of the map are several military Humvee's.   These vehicles are perfect to climb onto the top of and snipe down the alleyway and being able to watch the domination flag "C". To the southwest is building with a second level which watches down the whole of this street you can easily hold this position down with 2 snipers and a few claymores making it perfect when protecting flag "A" on domination.

Warning Game Realm Art Poster Print - 22x34 custom fit with RichAndFramous Black 22 inch Poster Hangers
There is a main building complex in the middle of the map with a couple of surrounding buildings that will all lead into each other, these are home to intense shotgun and sub-machine gun battles.

This battle scarred part of the city features a large, two-story base at the north-west corner. One team starts

on the convoy road near the base, but the map is covered with multiple buildings, offering several upper levels from which to gain decent vantage points. Watch for snipers camped in the eastern part of the map, in the sniper apartment and the loft.

Suggested Class of Weapons for Loadout

I'll start of by showing you my favorite opening routes in domination mode and some spots I like a lot. Just keep in mind that ninty percent of my out of  party play is in the Ground War mode.

Payers usually visit these two areas. Most of the  gun battles occurs near the middle of the map, in and around the little cafe, but the battle seems to move around the map, so load out with a good all-purpose class.

At first it might seem that the U.S. base would be a good place to camp and pick off your foes it really may not be the best choice after all. Here's why: There are three stairways that lead up to the second floor along with a ladder that is accessible from the base’s  south end. You can probably hold this second floor with a minimum of three players if one takes the window opening facing south to watch the south stairs and ladder, one player covers the northwest

stairs and another covers the northeast stairs.

Be careful traveling through upper middle section, near the alcove and courtyard. There are so many places to hide there, (like the trees) so you are quite exposed when you move through this section.  Consider taking the long way around to approach the enemy if this is your destination. Head southward towards what I call the bathrooms, then turn around and back up through the middle between the coffee shop and boutique. This map is very good for a

rushing gunner.

Spawning Route 1: The blue route is the route that I call my marathon/suppressed UMP rush route. Don't

camp A, just run and often times you can make it out of the cafe before you see any enemies, who will be

generally be gravitating towards either B, or down the riverside road. Easy flank kills here.

Spawning Route 2: The red route is the not any good so I don't even use it.

Spawning Route 3. The purple route is nearly a mirror of the A spawn of route green and is ideal for people who hope to win a lot of long range firefights. Run as quick a you can to the second purple dot (the first dot on this map was a mistake, so ther is really no reason to stop there). Crouch down behind the

barbed wire and concrete and take out anyone coming from the field and general/grocery store area. You'll have plenty of cover and they have none. It's quite hard to see you with the barbed wire. If your team captures B, hold this to prevent flanks, if they don't capture B, you can help B or try to flank C, though again, physical cover is very limited after the concrete barriers. If you want cheap and quick kills, you can move up 5 feet, turn left and then go prone

moving north. It's pretty dark and you're hard to see and you can take out opposition coming from the B

alley.

Both the loft and the sniper apartment are great to lay clays. In the loft, be sure to place your claymore on the ladder from the outside on the second floor.

You may like to run with a smoke grenade for this map, but I think stun grenades would be better due to the decent amount of buildings for campers. I like the smoke because i can move it up the road (the green route) and rush to flank without having to worry about getting picked off by a sniper.

I find myself advancing to the first layer of buildings and camping out a bit to see if any goobers are going to just run out into the open. Especially if I don't use marathon and lightweight perks.

Do you like carrying C4? This is one of the best maps for car bombing your opponents because C4 can be placed under any of the nine Humvees. Only seven of these Humvees can be blown up as the two near the west side of the base are bomb proof.

Game Trivia: Did you know that It is impossible to

destroy the white van, even with C4? :(

High Rise Map Modern Warfare 2

Modern warfare 2 HighRise

See all modern warfare games available on ebay!

High Quality MW2 Posters For Your Game Room
The Highrise map is set on the roof of an unfinished skyscraper and some of its interior office space and stairwells and utility tunnels – makes Highrise a great map. It’s also full of strategic subterfuge, sniping spots and choke points, if you know where to find them. You can expect that the average players will hover around the interior rooms at opposite sides of the map, and run through the central hallways.

The Steel Beams: You can access the beams from the roof of the elevators. These beams can (and should) be used, but don’t run around on them for too long because they don't offer any cover. What they do provide though is a path to the second floor of the northern interior, which is a great place to just hunker down and practice your marksmanship. You can jump onto one of these beams from the helicopter pad on the right side of the map.

The Building's Interior: Both opposing interiors offer some extra personal combat situations.  Stay in a crouched position and snake your way through the office cubicles.  Anyone who accidentally pops their head out above one of the half-wall can easily be blown to pieces through these thin dividers (It's kinda cool to watch the papers go all over the place).
Secondary shotguns are particularly effective and remember to use the environment around you when the opportunity arises.  The large copy machine will explode after being pounded or fired on, just like cars.

The scaffolding:  There is a little bit of scaffolding at the southeast side of the exterior that gives you access to a ledge that runs along the outside of the building.  This is an excellent "secret route" for carrying bombs or flags in objective mode. Even if you're killed while you’re carrying the objective, the enemy will  have a really tough time getting it from its perch thus giving you and your team the chance to catch them while they’re distracted.

The Red Pit: There’s a passageway that's not visable that runs across the lower level of the entire map, running from the northern interior to the southern.
Right in the middle of the passageway there is an opening that exposes a passage to the air, making lower level soldiers vulnerable for just a moment.
This isn’t any kind of secret route; everyone knows its there but with a little luck, you’ll make it to the other side and then pop up behind the other team without giving away your position.  BOOM!

The Parkour Opp: Wikipedia defines Parkour as: Parkour (abbreviated PK) is a training method which focuses on rational movement in both the natural and urban environments. The focus is to move around obstacles with speed and efficiency.
Developed in France by David Belle, the main purpose of the discipline is to teach participants how to move through their environment by vaulting, rolling, running, climbing and jumping.

Parkour practitioners are known as traceurs. They train to be able to identify and utilize alternate, more efficient paths. Parkour can be practiced anywhere, but areas dense with obstacles offer many training opportunities.

Okay now that you know that, there is a piece of scaffolding hanging out probably 10 feet from the edge of the building at it's southeast corner.

If you enjoy a little parkour, and don’t mind dying a few times, you can jump from the building , grab on to the scaffolding by pressing your Jump/Action button and climb it like a ladder.

Then you shimmy across a sliver of the ledge and walk up another piece of ironwork and reach the rooftop of the southern interior  which is the highest point of the map.

You may find a little surprise up there!

Other comments:  In the highrise map there are several spots for those who love to camp.  When you start out there is a building with a large tank on top.
When you go up on top of the building there is a yellow board.  Jump on it and then leap onto the next one that is in front of you.

There's a military helicopter on highrise helipad.  It has a lot if visibility but a lot of times, you can manage to get some decent kills.

The final spot is the most difficult. When you get off the top of the helicopter pad, go towards the pile of bricks and you'll see a ladder that is hanging there.

Run and jump on it then scale the side of the building until you get to another ladder.  Climb that ladder and go on the roof.

Throw some tactical insertions and you'll be set up to get more kills.

Sub Base Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Mw2 Sub Base Map

Sub Base is a medium size multiplayer map and is based on the Single Player level "Contingency" featured in Call of Duty: MW 2.

The mission is based 14 miles SSE of Petropavlovsk, Russia.

The sub base is a snowy, multiple level map with
large open spaces as well as enclosed buildings and numerous exposed rooftops.

Between the buildings is a large court yard area in the center of the map.  A lot of the routes on the map go into this area making it a sure fire area for massive gunfights. The players up on the catwalks fight against foes approaching through a tunnel as well as a rooftop nearby.

A large warehouse at one end of the map is used for long range battles and at the other end, the electrical power station is sure to offer a lot of close-quarter battles.

One suggested loadout would be: Primary: Riot Shield or Barrett .50 Cal (Heartbeat Sensor)
Secondary: Striker (Red Dot Sight)
Equipment: C4 or Claymore
Special Grenades: Stun Grenade
Perk 1: Scavenger Pro
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Commando Pro or Steady Aim Pro
Deathstreak: Martyrdom

Heartbeat Sensor provides real time information on people that are within a close proximity and will beep whenever hostile targets are close and will increase pitch the closer they get.

Thanks To Ons1augh7 for this fine tutorial on sub base demolition.

Favela Map Modern Warfare 2

Favela is a medium-sized multiplayer map in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It was originally planned to be included as a multiplayer map in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare's Variety Map Pack, but was cut out of the final release. according to  http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Favela

Favela Map

Favela, a map that is set in the slums of Rio de Janeiro and is based on the same elements of the campaign missions "The Hornet's Nest " and "Takedown". This map features very fast paced and close quarters battles. It has some tall buildings for snipers and narrow alleys for close quarter battles. A lot of the map is built vertically (up and down) with plenty of real estate around the rooftops and two-story structures. This map accomodates many different styles of play and gametypes.

This town is full of little shanty type structures and  has many corridors and blind corners.  This can be a frustrating map at first.  But it really isn't all that hard.  The trick is to know when to stick to the streets or when to take a position on the rooftops in  matches. It’s a lot simpler  to lose your pursuers on the streets; because every time they empty a clip,  you are already around the next corner ready to pwn them. Obviously, there is less cover on the rooftop, but your speed in travel is faster and you can cover more ground. Usually. So basically, use the low ground for offense like carrying a flag and use the high ground for your defensive positions, but don't hold fast to that rule if your opponents seem to be negligent in either area. In Team Deathmatch and Free-for-all, your vertical positioning will depend on how you like to play your type of game.
  1. The Large Street; This large street is the largest open area in the map, and darting around carelessly through it can be very dangerous, because it’s easily covered by your opponents on the nearby rooftops. Use the vehicles as cover and avoid staying around for too long.
  2. The Shortcut; You can jump between these buildings –  Going unseen is a key to succeeding in this map. Consider Ninja and Marathon perks.
  3. The High-point; This structure is the highest elevation on the map and can be used to move around undetected.  Just look out for any snipers or gunners on surrounding buildings.
  4. The Street Maze; Rooftop snipers will have a harder time picking you off if you stick to this street maze. you can spend the whole match in the central section and still see a lot of action.
Tips: Careful selection of perks will help greatly in this mission.  Practice hip firing because of quick close encounters that won't always allow for aiming.

Controlling the high ground will help players win a match, although every building or structure has more than one way of reaching the roof. Players can usually jump across most roofs, to help them gain an advantage with the battle.

Trivia: If the player goes into spectator mode he can go up to the statue of Jesus called the Corcovado statue on top of the hill which appears to be made out of blocks. This can also be seen if the player looks at it through a sniper scope. If you get close enough to the statue, it seems to be floating.

Estate Map Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Soundtrack mp3 download

Estate Map

The Estate map might remind you of a map from Call
Of Duty 4 called "Creek" however, Estate plays very
differently.

Estate map layout

There is a beautiful two story cabin in the southern
end of the map and this is where most games will
find most of the action.

As usual there are multiple entrances to the house
and it is defend-able but fairly easy to infiltrate too.

Grenades help to soften your way in.

The entrances
will be watched most of the time so use caution.
Look for a pile of logs outside the house because they
allow you access to the second floor by jumping up
that way.

Toss a stun grenade before entering and you may be
able to get multiple kills.

Because of the size of the estate, you have the ability
to engage in long range combat as well.

Be prepared to do some climbing and running too.

There are wooded area and additional buildings like
a greenhouse which is located near the house so you
will get a lot of gun battles starting there too.  If you
try running through the greenhouse, you will
probably get killed.  Be patient until a battle erupts
and then engage.

The Gully is the short path to the house and it is also
usually covered very well. It can be seen from the
second floor of the house so you may want to avoid
this way and flank around.

All vehicles provide cover but as with most, the
explode after taking cover fire so use caution there.
The garage with the snowmobile has an upstairs level
be sure to be aware of this.

There is a power station on the outskirts and it
doesn't get a lot of action but is used by campers and
some who want to get away to use kill streaks.
Building #4 will have snipers so again be careful of
just running up the main path at #3 because usually
it doesn't end up well for you unless you love to
re-spawn a lot.

Have fun.
