If you are having trouble finishing your Call Of Duty game or maybe you just want to improve your online gaming performance, consider trying some of these tactics.
Take the time to get to know the layout of the maps. Some of the maps in the Call Of Duty games are very large and have a lot of hiding places. There are usually multiple entrances as well. Pay attention to the respawn areas of the map.
Get familiar with each weapon and experiment with different weapon combinations. It's a fact that the most powerful weapon isn't always the best choice. Each class of weapon comes with an overview in (the form of a bar graph) of its accuracy, speed and ammunition capability. Change your weapons periodically as an experiment to see if your kills increase. While you are experimenting, do not worry about your overall game play as you are conducting an experiment and not trying to impress anyone.
Main Points of this video
- You have to know the limits of your gun (his is a FAL)
- Use cover to your advantage. Cover is something that is used so little by inexperienced players and so much by experienced players.
- Shoot out of the very tip of your head. If you crouch, the enemy can only see your head and maybe down to your nose.
- When you're running away from a gunfight you should look straight down and start running because it cuts your animation in half so it is more difficult for them to get a headshot on you.
- Know your surroundings you always have to know where your team mates are. Stay on the outside of the map. And use cover. Revenge kills are so common. Change your position.
- Consider using "Tactical" button layout as you learn to play. This way you can drop immediately with a push of a button.
- You must be patient. Don't rush into the spawn. Think what you are going to do before you do it.
- The more you play the better you get.
- Use tactical mask and hacker perks are his choice in loadouts
- Use a headset. They let you hear your players.
- Use the Famas for improved kills
- Stay back people will come to you. A death is more important than a kill
- Camping is sitting in a corner watching an area. Holding down an area is movement in a small area.
- Use Domination or Ground war to get your K/D up.
- A win/loss ratio is better than a K/D ratio.
To become very good at Call Of Duty; Practice, practice and practice some more. The more you play the game, the more comfortable you become with the maps and weapons. Getting better at Call of Duty requires quality game play and sincere dedication.
Shooting
Begin by making sure that you have had enough rest. The lag you are experiencing may be coming from your tired brain and your reaction time may be slower because of it.
Adjust your controller's sensitivity to a level you are comfortable with and increase it as you improve. Go to options and then to sensitivity and increase or decrease your number there. Some people are absolutely "beast" on a 2-4 setting others are just dead.
Take your time moving around the map. This may seem a little "campish" but running and re-spawning ain't no path to success.
Run up stairwells as fast as you can to avoid the enemy's "bead" on your head.
When in doubt, use flash around the corners. Are you seeing dots on your mini-map? Are you hearing gunfire? Throw a flash grenade when in doubt. You'll get more of 'em when you re-spawn.
Stay in the shadowy areas because it is more difficult for your opponent to see you. You can also crouch, drop or go sideways when encountering your enemy. Try to get the best position for a shot.
While you are learning to become a crack shot, stay out of wide open areas. This leads to death more often than not. Try to go wide and take your shot from the outskirts rather than in the middle of the fray.
Making the map work for you is a good sign that you are improving. Thinking about what turn will put you in a position to get a shot without face to face confrontation puts you in the position to get the kill and get away. Remember the mini-map shows where you are firing from in most cases, so you'll need to take a new position straight away.
There is basically three types of gun battles. The first is the long-range. These are mainly fought with LMG's Light machine guns, some classes of assault rifles and definitely sniper rifles.
Next would be your intermediate range or as some would call it "balanced" range gun battles. Assault and LMG type guns work well in this scenario. Remember to not grab the heaviest gun for every situation. Those guns aren't very accurate and spray a lot of bullets. Careful selection of perks and attachments for intermediate range battles will definitely improve your K/D (kill/death) ratio. In order to be a success your K/D must be over 1.00.
And finally close quarter gun battles which square you off with your opponent in very tight close proximity to each other. A new player would do well to avoid these since there are so many really great players online. But you will be forced in many situations to go head-to-head with another player. If you've ever played chess you know that you have to set up your intentions way in advance. Use this type of strategy when you are in close quarters. Watch your mini map and heartbeat sensor if you have one and also listen to your environment. The use of real ear covering headphones are the best in detecting footsteps and sounds that let you know that an enemy is near.
Just like the New York Stock Exchange, veteran Call Of Duty players will tell you that on every map, there is a certain amount of heat on the map and if the map was heat treated you would see sections of the map getting bright red from hundreds of kills in a game while you might camp in the corner of a map and never get shot. Those are too cool of an area to be of any use to you so begin to think about routes that the experienced players use to get to the objective (player, flag, point, bomb). Find out how to use these spots to your advantage. Another tip is to load up a private match with a friend and explore the map entirely and then run a one on one match to see how well you've done.
A lot of people will play the campaigns before they go online in order to hone their skills. In either case you should be able to find someone a little better than you that will help you improve. Don't get frustrated just because you were beaten badly this time. Death is very cheap in Call of Duty and it's how you learn so watch a replay of yourself and critique your own performance. The good and the bad. Next press R1 or L1 to toggle to another player better than you and try to find out what's in the mind of the person that played that match. There is a certain predictability of people and if you learn what that is on each map you can get yourself in a position to get the kills.
Use the private match mode to try out your attachments and perks for free even if you are level one. That way you will know what works for you and whether or not you want to purchase it for your loadout or you can spend about the same amount of time playing in matches or buying contracts to achieve the same goal. Test out the way your weapon fires against a wall from a certain distance. Do this for scoping and hip fire to see the fire pattern of each weapon. Some spray terribly on hip fire and some hardly make a difference.
One way to tell is the cross hairs in the middle of your screen.
The larger the cross hairs are, the more likely that hip firing will not be as accurate compared to a machine pistol or small machine gun.
If you choose a scope on your gun, be sure to carefully select the reticle that is right for you. Not just because it's cool looking. In case you're wondering... The reticle is a grid or pattern placed in the eyepiece of an optical instrument, used to establish scale or position. Usually a dot or cross or grid not a smiley face or a skull.
Moving Around The Map
Before starting a match, adjust the brightness and contrast on your television and game system to compensate for dark areas. Some televisions have a game mode that will do this for you but your personal preferences are best.
Move with cover in mind. I can’t stress this point enough; you are not invincible in this game. With most guns, two or three hits... you’re out.
Running around like there is are free ps3's or xbox's at GameStop is no way to win at this game. When possible you should always stay close to a wall, tree, tank, or other object that can provide you with some cover.
Face it, unless you’re a bullet dummy with a sign that says “shoot me” on your back, you should never provide a large billboard for someone to shoot.
By lowering your profile you i.e. looking down when you run away from a fight or looking straight and up when crouched you lower your chances of being hit.
Check those corners and cut corners in a way that would give you the element of surprise. Keep your cross hairs centered in the middle and be ready for anything.

Do you know weird routes. Whats a weird route? Its a place or a way to get around that people don't normally travel (see parkour or PK). For example hopping over walls, ledges and jumping out of windows.

Avoiding Death
I've heard it said that a full clip is a happy clip.
Use the Sleight of Hand perk to minimize reloading time. Watch this video and see a 50% reduction in reloading time on an LMG.
amazing huh? I counted 7 seconds without the SOH perk and only 3.5 to 4 seconds with it. So clearly this clearly, this perk could keep you alive.
"It's like there is no wall"!
Maybe the best, and most under used, piece of physics to Call of Duty Games, is the ability to shoot through walls. This works very well when you use the Deep Impact perk, which allows for deeper impact in materials like concrete and steel. If someone takes cover, try shooting through it especially if it is wood. It’s a great way to take out your opponent. Then be prepared to get to cover as other opponents will be targeting you!
Head shots vs. Body shots
When taking a shot, do not aim for the head. Head shots are easy ways to make quick kills but think about this; the head is only about 10% of the body. So, when you shoot at the head you are shooting at a small piece of whole target. The chances of connecting are much lower than that if you were aiming for the torso or knees. You have an 80 percent chance of hitting your target if you aim for the body and not just the head. Start at the knees and work upward. I call it "zippin 'em up".
Be Cool Man, Be Cool
I think that the best tip I could give to any gamer (I do this myself and tell my son the same thing) is to keep their cool and think like a pro because when you’re calm and collected you won’t make as many mistakes like running into a wall instead of a door. Eventually, keeping cool will become second nature to you and you will really see your deaths go down and your kills and XP's
increase.
